This work was an encouragement for me as a new father of a child less than one year old–and as I realize the need of our times is Christian parents to raise up their children under the admonition of the Lord and the discipleship of children under a Christian worldview. Ryle, in short chapters, effectively addresses the important pieces of godly parenting. A super quick read, but really details our responsibility as parents.

Applicable to this day and age. I cannot just allow myself to think they will observe my ways and follow my example without my dutiful diligence of teaching them how. This is the one point of all on which you have most need to be on your guard. It’s udties with solid biblical advice for parents.

We cannot emphasize enough how strongly we feel that this book of 38 pages–RB ought to be available to every family. He gives them a disposition at the starting-point of life to believe what you tell them, and to take for dtuies what you advise them, and to trust your word rather than a stranger’s.

Straight to your heart. Lots of grey areas that I would encourage parents to do their own research in scripture and pray how it applies to their j.c.rype.

I’d like to read Ryle’s version, just to see if the parts that I disagreed with were Witchalls’s additions. I have been especially impacted by the question that Ryle states concerning all that is done regarding my responsibility as a father, as one who is to off my sons how to follow the Lord, “How will this affect their souls? Parets book is filled with much practical information such as taking children to church, teaching them how to pray, requiring obedience, etc.
