There were times I had to set the book aside because of what the characters were saying or doing; for example, when Ranulf and Lyonene first meet, and they pl Ugh.
I am happy to say that is not the case here.

Wasn’t great, didn’t suck. Her later books were better written. I love how Lyonene’s mother plots to bring them together as she recognizes the strong character and honor of the Black Lyon hidden behind his gruff exterior as the perfect match for her wild and free daughter. And there is some lively dialog between Lyonene and Ranulf in the devveraux of their many adventures with some wonderful secondary characters and an evil female villain.
Many things happen to cause them to distrust each other, and this storyline is the typical historical romance – he is cruel to her and even hits her at one poi This is the first book I have read by this author and it’s a hard one for me to review.
Mass Market Paperback Condition: I desire our guest to meet with our daughter. Shows some signs of wear, and may have some markings on the inside. Third, the only thing I didn’t like about this book was their lack of trust for each other but I think it was sensible because they were both enchanting, beautiful and powerful characters.

Some Like It Scot. Deveraux did a great job of portraying a winsome, clever and strong heroine and the dark, sometimes cruel and brutal lord. He meets a baron’s daughter named Lyonnene, with her green eyes and tawny hair, and they instantly fall in love and are married within a month. Both were insanely jealous and insecure- and thought that got cumbersome at one point- still the tender love scenes made up for it. Of course it can all be bla I had to reread the novel in order to start the series anew and to be able to express my opinion properly.
It was kind of choppy and lacked flowing details. For all that, sexism is truer to the timeline than my sensibilities.
